So, the sites up. after an afternoon of nonstop work ive got everything just about as finished as id like it to be. Im shocked i was able to get this to be as done as it is, given that im not too good at finishing anything.
I'm happy with where its at and im excited to keep updating!!

ENTRY 1: Alien, The Roguelike
I'm a HUGE fan of Roguelikes. theres a folder on my computer full of them. they offer an eternally unique gaming experience that also often links nicely with the 90s aesthetic that i love so much. Speaking of 90s!
Aliens, The Roguelike is a game created by Kornel Kisieliwicz for the 2007 7DRL.
you play as a member of the colonial marines, alone, in the darkness, with no one to save you. Grim.
you may notice that the 'A' in Aliens is a creature! this is due to the tileset i made for use with the game. This is possible because all the games graphics are contained in a single png, which i took advantage of and edited.
I took the liberty of using graphics from the ZX SPECTRUM game Rebelstar II for the marine and alien, and I think it turned out okay, let me know if you agree. if you dont, do not let me know.
as you can see, the game has a very defined visual direction, (even without the tileset). it mimics that of a PLATO terminal, or a kubrick movie computer. Also, like most roguelikes, it is Brutally difficult, and in all my time of playing, I have NEVER WON. be that the fault of my adhd or a testiment to the games difficulty, you can decide.
The sound design is minimal, but effective. various sounds spliced from the movies interlaced with open source and hand made ambience. both MIDI and Waveforms are used, and to white-knuckling effect.
AliensRL is a beautifully composed coffee-break roguelike that also tanks longer playtimes like a champ. It blends sound methods, graphical methods, and medium in a beautiful slurry of color, leaving just enough to the imagination to make you piss yourself. I love it, and you should too. bye bye.
